Persepolis Blog #1

Q#3) In the noval Persepolis, how does Satrapi go about challenging this myth? That your country is always at war; and never know that any minute now may be your last on earth. You lost love one and close one. Mostly everyone around you would leave or go there own way because of some iusse and reason. And that seeing them leaving is very hard. After reading Persepolis, my view towards Iraq is that living a life there is hard. I find that lots of people dress alike, rules are strick and it a really religious culture. Of all this reading I also learn a lot about it and the war-like time.

Q#4) Persepolis was organized and strutured as a little girl growing up, facing a war life. As time growing up she faces new challenging things everytime. For exmaple, when she was 10 years old, the student were to wear the veil to school. Later she lost friends and family memeber. And plus, you'll never know when a bomb going to hit you!! The drawing in the noval help me understand the picture in the text. It also help me know how is the narrative and the people around her is reacting toward a spoken word or action just happened.

Q#7) Opportunits for laugh. Oradinary citizens of Iran enjoying life. What made me laugh was the part that I think Marji was really getting hurt, but it was only a act she play in school fro her friends because it was getting boring. This comic was added into the noval is to show what the whole story is about. The same problem or thing keep happening over and over again. For exmaple "THE MARTYRS - THE MARTYRS," or when she said "kill me" "I'm suffering can't you see." This is what she knows and see what is happening to the people in Iran everyday. And now at school, too much reoligous talking: now making everything seem like a joke, somehow to the kids.
